As of recently, the prestigious and well-established university, Harvard University, is getting investigated for their application process; researchers note that there seems to be some sort of racial injustice and bias stemming from their admissions. The Education Department is investigating Harvard’s potential violation of Title VI of the federal Civil Rights Act, which goes into detail regarding that no person should be discriminated against “under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.” Many complaints have been made stating that Harvard specifically places students of color at a disadvantage when it comes to the admissions process; this directly juxtaposes the campus’s diversity statements.
