Just a couple of weeks ago, shocking news was spread as former President Donald Trump has been removed from Maine’s 2024 primary ballot. However, this surprising decision is not the first we have seen made. This turn of events makes Maine the second state, following Colorado, to disqualify the former president from office. In the Midwest, the Colorado Supreme Court also agreed to remove Trump’s name off the ballot. Both states came to this consensus after reviewing the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban.” However, this provision remains rather vague with no specific implementation method. Trump’s critics see this as a victory, whereas Trump’s followers are notably upset.
